Read Important note: each course is 75 hours towards your Journeyman Examination. On the first night of class Tuesday, September 15th the electrical instructors will place students in a course based on their completed hours of electrical theory education. You must be a current electrician apprentice to attend these classes
Course Description: To prepare the apprentice to become eligible to take the state examination for Journeyman Electrician. Instruction will be given in the following areas mathematics, theory, blueprint reading, and code regulations. To sit for the Journeyman Examination, 600 hours of education are required as a prerequisite. ** This is NOT a hands-on Electrical Course Program. ** Visa, MasterCard or Discover online payment for classes. The course is designed for Journeyman Electricians to prepare for their Master's Electrical Examination. Class work covers the study and interpretation of the Massachusetts Electrical Code: NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code, Massachusetts State Amendments, Contractor's Guide to Business Law and Project Management. 237 CMR 12-23 Rules and Regulations of the Board of State Examiners, General Laws of Massachusetts MGL Ch. 141 Supervision of Electricians, Massachusetts Inspection of Buildings MGL 143, Massachusetts Lien Law MGL 254, overtime, worker compensation, unemployment laws, Federal Regulations, OSHA.
***Required books: Masters ExamBuster workbook 2023 edition (price TBD) and the NEC/MEC 2023 edition. Additional helpful resources: NFPA 72 Fire Alarm Code, OSHA 1926 Standards Handbook, NASCLA Contractors Guide to Business 13th edition.

Computer access is required to this course. Your computer must have a camera which needs to be on during the classes. Smartphones are not allowed to access the course This is NOT a self-paced course. Students MUST attend classes while they run live, and they will not be recorded for later student access. There will be no in-person option. This course is on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m., and homework will be given. The course starts on Wednesday, September 16th and is a 110 hour course. Students must have successfully completed Tiers 1 and 2 before attending this course. Students must have a valid plumbing apprenticeship license to attend this course. This course is for individuals to prepare for their Journeyman's Examination. Class work will follow the tier guidelines set by the State. This course is applicable only to those newly licensed apprentices after September 1, 2008. All plumbing students must have a copy of the current code book to bring to all classes. More
